Overview
Balfour Beatty is looking for a highly influential and technical Electrical Delivery Director to lead the installation strategy and delivery for a major discipline within the MEH (Mechanical, Electrical & HVAC) Alliance at Hinkley Point C. Acting as the discipline’s key delivery expert, you’ll bring clarity, direction and strategic oversight across a complex and high‑profile nuclear project. You will work closely with engineering, construction, commissioning, supply chain and programme leadership to drive seamless integration and ensure milestone achievement. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact on one of the UK’s most complex infrastructure programmes—providing technical leadership, elevating performance and enabling your teams to deliver safely, confidently and to the highest nuclear standards. This role will require onsite presence at Hinkley or at the Bristol/Bridgwater offices.
What you\'ll be doing
* Lead the development and implementation of the discipline installation strategy, aligned with programme objectives and milestone targets.
* Oversee end-to-end delivery of installation activities, ensuring readiness, productivity and high-quality execution across all work areas.
* Provide expert technical assurance, including design reviews, constructability assessments and resolution of technical queries.
* Drive alignment across Engineering, Procurement, Pre-construction, Commissioning and other delivery disciplines.
* Lead, support and develop discipline teams, subcontractors and supervisors—promoting strong site leadership and behavioural safety.
* Identify and implement improvements in methods, productivity, tools and systems in line with alliance principles.
* Approve installation plans, sequences and resourcing requirements to deliver work safely and efficiently.
* Prioritise, manage and escalate technical risks, blockers and change that impact delivery.
* Oversee resolution of RFIs/FCRs, interface issues and quality records, ensuring timely close-out to support commissioning and handover.
* Provide accurate progress reporting, risk escalation and performance insight to support decision-making at programme level.
Who we\'re looking for
* Extensive experience leading complex installation or construction projects within a relevant major-project or regulated industry.
* Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, influence and guide multidisciplinary delivery teams.
* Excellent stakeholder communication skills, with the confidence to engage customers and senior leaders effectively.
* Highly organised, with the ability to plan effectively and drive operational excellence.
* Strong commercial and financial awareness, with the ability to manage targets and improve performance.
* Proven ability to drive safety and sustainability standards.
* Relevant professional qualifications and appropriate technical credentials.
* Valid CSCS card.
