Overview
Unimetals Recycling (UK) Ltd is recruiting two Regional Electrical Maintenance Engineers. One position will predominantly cover Nottingham, Hull, Barnsley and other northern sites; the other will cover Avonmouth, Long Marston, Newport, Smethwick and other sites. Reporting to the UK Electrical Engineering Manager, the Regional Electrical Maintenance Engineer will be an Authorised Person, responsible for maintaining plant and site facilities to maximise process utilisation, contribute to technical improvements and process developments, ensuring that plant and infrastructure are maintained safely and to the highest possible level whilst complying with legislation and company standards.
Responsibilities
* Maintain plant and site facilities to maximise process utilisation and safety.
* Contribute to technical improvements and process developments.
* Ensure that plant and infrastructure are maintained to the highest possible level while complying with legislation and company standards.
* Issue safety documents and permits as required.
* Construct simple control panels, interpret electrical drawings and OEM manuals; apply knowledge of control instrumentation to fault finding in a logical manner.
* Undertake/assist in mechanical works as needed and work in a challenging role.
* Work within a multi-disciplinary team with good interpersonal skills; be self-motivated and reliable.
* Experience with control equipment for water pumps, pipework, hydraulic systems, pneumatics, conveyors and complex production plant process systems.
* Experience in supervising contractors and coordinating work on site.
* Use data and knowledge to make complex decisions to resolve plant breakdowns; manage own time and work with minimum supervision.
* Be flexible to shift work, overtime, and call outs as required to support department objectives.
* IT literate (MS Office, CMMS experience); hold a current clean UK driving licence and relevant licences (FLT, Scissor lift, Cherry picker) as required; able to work at height and in confined spaces.
Qualifications
* Time-served Electrician with a BS7671 Regulation Certificate; experience in Medium/Heavy industry.
* Experience with PLC systems, Variable Speed Drives, HMIs and SCADA; maintenance, repair and installation of electrical systems.
* Knowledge of condition monitoring tools and techniques.
* High Voltage Authorised Person (AP) preferred or willing to train to this level.
* Ability to issue safety documents and permits; interpret electrical drawings and OEM manuals.
* Ability to work on own initiative and in a team; strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
* Experience with contractors on site and coordinating activities.
* Ability to work with, organise and supervise contractors; ability to make complex decisions using data and knowledge.
