Quality Engineer – HVDC & Platform Systems:

As a Quality Engineer specialising in HVDC and Platform Systems, you will act as the project-level authority for quality assurance across critical systems. While embedded within the central quality function, you will operate in close alignment with the HVDC and automation teams, providing dedicated oversight on all project-related quality matters.

You will play a key role in maintaining visibility of quality and compliance risks across complex vendor packages, ensuring that standards, specifications, and project requirements are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities:

* Maintain a risk-based overview of key quality and compliance exposures across vendor packages, including HV/LV systems, control panels, automation, telecoms, and preservation
* Review and monitor vendor QC documentation to ensure alignment with project requirements and applicable standards
* Assess overall build quality and workmanship of panels and equipment, identifying issues relating to wiring practices, terminations, internal segregation, mechanical assembly, and preservation
* Track, manage, and drive closure of non-conformities and technical queries, escalating critical issues where necessary
* Support discipline leads by providing clear insight into quality performance and key project risks
* Participate in audits and inspections in an oversight capacity.

Knowledge & Competence:

* Familiarity with key IEC standards, such as IEC 62271, IEC 60076, IEC 61439, IEC 61850, IEC 60204-1, and IEC 61508
* Understanding of offshore preservation and coating standards, including ISO 12944 and DNV guidelines

Experience:

* Strong ability to identify poor workmanship across wiring, panel assembly, busbar systems, and mechanical installations
* Experience assessing vendor deliverables for compliance with specifications and industry standards
* Capable of identifying and prioritising major project risks without the need for detailed testing or hands-on FAT involvement
* Proven ability to track, manage, and close out non-conformities effectively

Quality Management:

* Solid understanding of ISO 9001 quality management principles
* Experience applying risk-based inspection and surveillance strategies
* Ability to consolidate technical findings into clear, concise reports for project stakeholders
