Overview
Retail Development Consultant - Engineering, Desford (LE9). 24 month contract (likely to extend for the right person). 37.5 hours per week: 08:00-16:00 Mon - Fri. PAYE up to £28.50 hourly rate plus holiday and pension contribution OR Umbrella hourly rates up to £39.00, depending on experience.
Join our client’s team in Desford; they are an industry leader and a world-renowned Fortune 100 brand manufacturing off-highway machinery. You will lead initiatives to increase revenue and growth to meet critical sales and marketing targets through dealer retail transformation. You will work closely with dealers to improve retail marketing and sales capabilities, optimize the retail customer experience, and increase productivity and efficiencies while reducing distribution costs.
Responsibilities
* Manage dealer retail business transformation and retail journey steps, focused on physical proximity and digital channels to reach potential retail customers.
* Manage assigned dealer growth plan development, alignment, and execution, including budget aimed at expanding retail sales of prime products through transformation.
* Advise dealers on retail marketing, sales and customer-related strategies, systems, and processes.
* Assist dealers to identify performance gap solutions.
* Advise on customer experience issues and improvement measures (e.g., ways to enhance market coverage and customer experience through training, technology-enabled and bundled solutions, etc.).
* Territory: Covers 10 dealers in the Europe, Africa, and Middle East region.
* Travel: circa 25% of the time—mainly within Europe including the UK.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential:
* Bachelors degree + 2-3 years' minimum experience in a similar role; able to think creatively and contribute to strategic goals.
* Experience growing and executing sales and/or marketing plans and achieving results.
* Experience in B2B and customer-facing roles; consulting with dealers or distributors.
* Experience in B2B financial management, understanding profitability drivers and cost-control tactics.
* Ability to translate challenging goals into clear action plans that deliver results.
* Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence, persuade, and build relationships.
* Self-starter with initiative, ability to work autonomously, and a positive attitude.
* Excellent listening, communication, and presentation skills.
* Effective team player; helps make the team stronger.
* Software: Proficient in Microsoft Office; Excel (ability to create pivot tables).
Desirable:
* Industrial/off-highway background preferred.
* Experience working in a dealer distribution model.
