Mech Tech Professionals currently have an opportunity available for a competent Shift Manager to secure a full-time position based in Kent.
Our client, one of the UK's most prestigious Waste and Resource Management companies, is seeking an experienced professional to join their team as soon as possible or upon availability.
Overview
As a Shift Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the health, safety, and wellbeing of staff, contractors, visitors, and other stakeholders at an Energy from Waste Facility.

The shift pattern will be 40 hours per week.
Main responsibilities will include:
* Managing and supervising the daily operations of the facility, ensuring safety and compliance.
* Performing supervisory tasks in accordance with company procedures & policies.
* Ensuring compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
* Leading a team of six direct reports and driving performance improvements.
* Supporting operational improvements and plant maintenance/co-ordination.
* Managing activities of contractors and ensuring safe working environments.
* Carrying out workplace investigations and root cause analysis for incidents.
* Supporting recruitment, training, and development of the shift team.
* Acting as Incident Controller during emergency situations.
* Ensuring effective & clear communication between departments to maintain overall efficiency.
Candidate requirements:
* The ideal candidate must be fully authorized to operate an EFW facility or be working towards it.
* Candidate will hold an IOSH Managing Safely Training certification or similar (Preferred).
* Authorized to administer Safety Rules to SAP level 2 or working towards it.
* Vast technical background in either plant operations or maintenance.
* Preferably five or more years of experience, including practical and supervisory experience with large boilers and rotating plant.
* Experience in managing the procurement of goods and services.
* Experienced in supervising or managing small teams (Preferred).
* Demonstrates an understanding of the Environment Permit and emissions limits.
* Development and implementation of operational procedures and risk assessments.
* Proven ability to build and develop teams while demonstrating strong leadership and delivering results through others.
* Experience in setting personnel and financial objectives and targets.
* Experience with Safety Rules Outage management (Preferred).
* Computer literacy required (Microsoft Office, Nisoft Eclipse, Gladis, and CMMS).
