Quality Inspector
Location - Goole
Work Pattern- Monday - Friday
Shifts - 6:00-14:30, 14:30-22:30 days and lates
Salary - £30,000 - £32,000 per annum
£15.38 PAYE standard / £17.70 PAYE 115%
£19.15 Umbrella
6am - 2:30pm Mon - Fri day shift
2:30pm - 10pm Mon - Thurs afternoon 2pm - 8pm Fri afternoon
Inside IR35
Responsible for routine, daily inspection of products of Rolling Stock cars, ensuring compliance with product safety standards and best practice.
Responsible for supporting the shopfloor with defect identification, data capture, and reporting for resolution.
The role is also accountable for ensuring the quality of our end products, for right-first-time delivery, by providing effective end-of-line inspection.
Key Accountabilities:
Elaborates and analyses Quality concepts, methods, tools and procedures as parts of effective Quality Management Systems, in a specific Quality area, or in an assigned organisation unit.
* Prepares Quality-related analyses, concepts, methods and tools, for respective management to decide.
* Advices business accountable management in specific Quality-related issues.
* Ensures and Implements quality related standards, guidelines and programs in a specific quality area, or in organisational unit(s) assigned.
* Analyses working environment and proposes improvements to management.
* Keeps abreast of industry and legal trends in a specific quality area.
* Drives and coaches unit-related general Quality projects in a specific Quality area.
* Contributes to budget planning processes.
* Trains employees in a specific quality area.
* Coordinates a group of quality related staff without leading the team.
* Ensures effective cooperation with both internal and external stakeholders; clarifies issues.
Knowledge & Experience
* Previous experience in an inspection role.
* Previous experience in decision-making within a safety-critical environment.
* Technical background in a mechanical / engineering environment.
* Attention to detail, thoroughness, and precise reporting.
* Competent with measurement equipment (callipers, micrometers, gauges).
* Good knowledge of IT systems/software/Microsoft Office (ability to use digital reporting systems/interfaces).
* Good communication skills both written and oral.
* Able to remain professional in challenging situations and put quality first in all scenarios.
* Good organisation/planning skills, self-motivated.
PPE Will be provided when needed on site
All PPE provided and Health and Safety explained before and on site.
