Job Title : Short Breaks Officer Job Category : Social Care - Unqualified Category : Agency Workers - Temporary Justification : Cover for permanent position Hours Per Week : 36.00 Start Time : 09:00 End Time : 17:00 Support and oversee the provision of financial transactions and resource allocation to enable stakeholders and customers to engage with and utilise the services effectively. Maintain and develop relationships with service users and their families for Short Breaks, personal budget provision, and travel assistance delivered through the Integrated Disability Service. Knowledge, Abilities, and Expertise • Extensive relevant experience in the service sector / related profession, demonstrating appropriate work duties and professional expertise (including Short breaks, Direct Payments, and Domiciliary care) • Familiarity with specialist work practices, professional guidelines, legislation, and emerging trends in the service area. • Understanding of promoting independence, resilience, and well-being for children, young adults, and families. • Ability to interpret and present data, highlighting key points and areas of strengths and weaknesses. • Experience in contributing to the development of services, policies, procedures, and practices. • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate, persuade, and build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels. Proven ability to communicate with, engage, and influence children, young adults, carers, partners, and stakeholders in complex situations. • Experience in supporting partnerships working to provide services to children and families. • Good planning and organizational skills, with experience in working within general professional guidelines or organisational policy to meet service requirements. • Proven initiative and judgment in identifying and resolving problems. • Ability to manage conflicting and changing demands through effective time management and working under pressure. • Experience in financial administration. • Proficient ICT skills, including standard Microsoft applications and Excel (essential) as well as the ability to use social care records and data systems. • Good reporting and recording skills in accordance with statutory and internal processes.
