About this opportunity

Do you thrive working systematically and effectively in a fast‑paced environment? Are you looking for a new and rewarding challenge? We’re looking to recruit an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join our Children’s Systems Development and Support Service. We develop and support multiple case management systems for Children’s Social Care and Early Help. This role is available on a permanent basis and will be primarily based on home.

Although it’s full‑time, part‑time and/or job‑share arrangements may be considered. You will take a leading role in developing, maintaining and improving our key systems. You will ensure our systems are effective, meet the standards required, data is accurate, whilst also supporting staff in using the technology. This will enable Cumberland and Westmorland & Furness Councils to deliver a high‑quality service to their customers, guaranteeing compliance with statutory requirements and undertaking ongoing analysis to support effective service delivery.

Cumberland Council is currently delivering a hosted ICT Service for Cumberland Council, Westmorland and Furness Council and Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service. The provision of these services will be disaggregated at a future date, and employees will be TUPE allocated to one of the two Councils. Who we’re looking for to succeed in this role, we are looking for someone with experience in systems development.

Knowledge of LiquidLogic Children’s systems would be desirable. You will have good communication skills and can build relationships to help both Councils meet the needs of their residents. You will have an understanding of relevant local authority legislation including GDPR and Information Security. A team player who can work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail you will bring innovative solutions and strong problem‑solving skills to the team.

Key Responsibilities

* Maintain, support and develop systems used within the Children’s Services, ensuring they are reliable and fit for purpose.
* Collaborate with stakeholders within the teams to help and assist to ensure they can deliver a great service.
* Provide technical support and training to staff to ensure effective use of systems.
* Build relationships with stakeholders across Cumberland and Westmorland & Furness Councils.
* Using reports and data analysis to support effective decision making.
* Contribute and share ideas on improving digital systems across Cumberland and Westmorland & Furness Councils.
* Understanding of Project Management and work planning.

Following the disaggregation of the service, one post will be allocated to Cumberland Council, and one post will be allocated to Westmorland and Furness Council.
