Hours: Monday to Friday, Days Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Transport: Own vehicle required due to rural location ISQ Recruitment is supporting a Norfolk-based engineering company that is looking to bring in a Production Engineer with strong tooling and CAD experience. This is a hands-on role focused on designing and improving jigs, fixtures, and tooling to support production scale-up. You’ll work closely with engineers and shop floor teams, using Creo (essential) and FEA to create practical, production-ready solutions that improve safety, efficiency, and build quality. We’re open on background — you might currently be a Production Engineer, Tooling Engineer, or CAD Designer with jig/fixture experience. What’s important is experience designing tooling for real-world manufacturing and an interest in practical, hands-on engineering. What You’ll Be Doing Designing and optimising tooling, jigs, fixtures, and lifting aids. Reviewing existing tooling and suggesting improvements for safety, efficiency, and repeatability. Supporting prototype builds and build trials alongside engineers and technicians. Using Creo FEA to develop and validate tooling designs. Improving build sequences and helping reduce changeover/setup times. Assisting with workplace layout, lean activities, and process improvements. Supporting operators and engineers with tooling-related issues on the shop floor. Contributing to light documentation such as work instructions or process notes. What We’re Looking For Essential Experience in a production, tooling, or hands-on engineering role. Strong experience designing jigs, fixtures, or tooling. Proficiency in Creo CAD (mandatory) and confident with FEA. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and work closely with technicians. Practical, problem-solving mindset and comfortable being hands-on. Own transport due to site location. Full right to work in the UK. Desirable Background in lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement. Knowledge of basic test rigs or small equipment tooling.
