A Service Engineer with experience is needed to join the team at this leading food machinery services company on a full-time basis. The role will involve mechanical and electrical work covering workshops and mobile work across London and the Southeast. This role is a mix of site-based and out-in-the-field covering the South East of the UK (London, Essex, Surrey etc). The company is a small family-run business based in Ashford, Kent, offering sales, service and repairs, on or off-site, including breakdown cover for all food processing machinery and equipment. This is an excellent opportunity to progress your career with a rapidly growing company About the Role The ideal candidate will have a mix of Mechanical and Electrical knowledge, but they are open to someone with either. Working hours are 7:00 am - 5 pm, with a half-hour lunch and two 15-minute breaks. Overtime will be paid at the hourly rate. Key Responsibilities: Set up and install food processing equipment and machinery at client sites, ensuring it functions as per specifications Conduct routine maintenance checks, troubleshoot issues, and repair malfunctioning or faulty equipment to minimise downtime Provide remote and on-site technical assistance to clients, assisting with operational challenges or machine queries Maintain detailed records of all service activities, including parts replaced, service schedules, and client feedback Ensure all machinery installations, repairs, and maintenance activities adhere to industry safety standards and regulations Stay updated with the latest advancements in food machinery technology and best practices in the industry Collaborate with the sales and design teams, providing insights from the field to enhance machinery design, functionality, or user experience Ensure availability of essential spare parts and tools for servicing, coordinating with supply chain or procurement teams as necessary Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their satisfaction and addressing any concerns or feedback Required Skills: Proficiency in understanding, maintaining, and repairing complex food machinery and equipment Strong analytical abilities to diagnose issues quickly and implement effective solutions to minimise machine downtime Ability to convey complex technical information clearly to clients, train staff, and liaise with internal teams Meticulousness in inspecting machinery, performing repairs, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards Dedication to meeting client needs, understanding their concerns, and ensuring overall satisfaction with machinery services provided Sounds interesting?
