The team you’ll be joining
You will join a dynamic team of product and design professionals focused on delivering value through a secure global payments platform that provides intuitive and engaging user experiences.
The Role
As a Product Owner at EML Payments, you will ensure effective fraud detection and prevention capabilities, working closely with cross-functional teams to implement screening, identify, and prevent fraudulent transactions, thereby reducing losses, enhancing security, and maintaining customer trust.
Fraud: Real-time detection and prevention across card, merchant, web, and app transactions. Implementing fraud metrics, monitoring, and red flags for ongoing transactions, cross-border activity, rapid reloads, and diverse funding methods. Monitoring transactions to improve detection and identify discrepancies.
Screening: Setting up and monitoring Name Screening (Sanctions, PEPs, Payer, Payee, Adverse Media), Transaction Screening, alerts, and white/blacklisting.
KYB/KYC: Establishing and monitoring Know Your Business and Know Your Customer processes to ensure compliance with regional regulations, verifying information about businesses and individuals, and integrating with clients via reliance models where appropriate.
Limits & Controls: Managing risks by implementing limits on funding, purchases, reloading, spending, cash access, and geographical restrictions.
Transaction Monitoring: Creating rules and alerts to detect suspicious patterns, with escalation to authorities as required by regulations.
What you’ll do
* Define and communicate the vision and strategy for defend and protect capabilities, aligning with business objectives and compliance requirements.
* Develop and maintain a product roadmap with features, milestones, and timelines.
Stakeholder Management:
* Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather requirements and feedback.
* Build and maintain relationships with third parties to ensure successful implementation and ongoing success.
Product Development & Execution:
* Partner with technical and design teams to translate ideas into user stories and deliver features.
* Oversee the product lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
Customer Experience & Value Proposition:
* Provide a seamless, user-friendly experience, leveraging third-party capabilities where possible.
* Drive engagement and satisfaction by ensuring a straightforward defend and protect experience for customers, card users, and authorities.
Data Analysis & Insights:
* Use data to inform decisions, optimize performance, and identify improvements.
* Provide regular reports on program performance to senior management.
Market Research & Competitive Analysis:
* Monitor industry trends, regulations, and compliance to keep capabilities ahead of market shifts.
Partner Engagement:
* Understand partner goals and integrate them into the program to create mutual value.
* Support partners with tools and resources for success.
Subject Matter Expert:
* Consult with sales and regional teams on features and opportunities.
* Be the platform expert in sales discussions.
What you’ll bring
3-5 years of experience as a Product Owner or Manager in fintech, with a focus on defend and protect capabilities. Experience with external partners and authorities is preferred.
Skills:
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Data-driven decision-making skills.
* Strategic thinking and prioritization abilities.
Technical Knowledge:
* Familiarity with Agile, Jira, Confluence.
* Understanding of payment solutions, fraud detection, and data management.
Education:
* Bachelor's degree in business, Computer Science, or related field.
