Head of Recruitment at Arabelle Solutions - EDF Group

The role will lead a team of Site Commercial Managers at the Hinkley Point C Site in UK. You will provide site commercial leadership to the project, construction, and commissioning teams on site, including through the leadership of a team of dedicated site contract managers and quantity surveyors.

Hinckley Point C (HPC) will be a new nuclear power station in the UK. Once operational, it will deliver 3.2 GW of carbon-free electricity, powering 6 million homes, and contribute to the UK’s Net Zero and strategic autonomy objectives. Arabelle Solutions plays a key role in the HPC power station's entry into operation through delivering 2 turbine islands on a turnkey basis, including designing, procuring, manufacturing, installing, and commissioning all power-generating equipment, such as the record-breaking 1750 MW Arabelle turbine with a 75-inch last stage blade.


Responsibilities

1. Lead and standardize site commercial and contract management practices across Arabelle Solutions to improve profitability, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
2. Collaborate with Construction & Commissioning teams to ensure execution excellence, including handling claims, variations, and change management.
3. Gather and report execution data and contract metrics; audit sites for compliance and process improvements.
4. Share lessons learned and integrate insights into tendering processes to enhance future projects.
5. Manage a regional team of Site Commercial Managers, including recruitment, development, and succession planning.
6. Advise, coach, and support staff on contractual and commercial matters; oversee HR cycles and performance management.
7. Ensure the availability of commercial tools and competencies to support site execution needs.
8. Stay updated on construction and industry trends to support business objectives.
9. Lead or support contractual audits and claims negotiations related to site contracts.
10. Support large, complex projects by managing obligations with stakeholders and subcontractors, including claims and risk management.
11. Implement site-specific commercial procedures and drive contractual actions, including notices and dispute resolution.
12. Monitor site costs and collaborate with Legal for contractual guidance.


Qualifications / Requirements

* University Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Business Administration, or Law.
* Understanding of large-scale construction projects and contract law.
* 10+ years of experience in claim and contract management within international construction projects.
* Proven leadership in commercial site management in the power industry, with significant construction site exposure.
* Experience in high-level negotiations with subcontractors and partners.


Desired Characteristics

* Experience with FIDIC contracts, including negotiations and administration of subcontracts.
* Proficiency in managing complex EOT and cost claims, and handling project performance issues.
* Strong communication skills and proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and presentation tools.
* Effective leadership and employee management skills.
* Stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills in multicultural settings.
* Independent, proactive, solutions-oriented, with sound judgment.
* Resilient, pragmatic, and strong in problem-solving.
* Ability to work within a matrix organization and influence at senior levels.
