Design/Simulation Manager - Up to £60,000 bonus, healthcare & pension Kidderminster/West Midlands Full-time | Permanent, Hybrid working available Our client is seeking a Design/Simulation Manager to lead their experienced team of Stress Engineers, Modelling & Simulation Engineers & Ballistics Engineers. This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of advanced propulsion projects, drive innovation, and support the in further defence capabilities. As the Design/Simulation Manager, you will be responsible for managing the design analysis and configuration documentation teams. You will play a key role in leading the design, stress, and ballistic analysis of new and existing related components. This is a strategic and technical leadership role where you'll guide project delivery, process improvement, and future capability development. Key Responsibilities - Manage a team of design analysts and documentation engineers to deliver high-quality, compliant outputs on time and to specification. - Plan and prioritise team activities to meet immediate and mid-term project goals. - Drive improvements in Roxel's simulation and analysis capability. - Ensure accurate ballistic and structural analysis of propulsion systems. - Support R&D, concept development, and bid-phase activities. - Lead technical investigations and customer engagements. - Oversee design documentation and maintain configuration integrity. - Support talent development, training, and succession planning within the team. - Formal qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) in Physics, Applied Mathematics or a relevant Engineering discipline. Essential skills: - Leading technical teams or engineering projects. - Simulation, ballistic modelling, or stress analysis. - Aerospace, defence, or rocket propulsion design. - Configuration management and engineering documentation. - Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams. - High attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Desirable Skills - Experience with aerospace or defence standards. - Familiarity with environmental testing (vibration, thermal, etc.). - Use of simulation tools and product modelling techniques (e.g. FEA). - Exposure to customer design reviews or regulatory bodies.
