The role:
Working as part of the Catering team assisting in all aspects of preparation, service, wash-up and cleaning duties related to the provision of a high quality catering service to patients, staff and visitors Direct service of Catering to the Theatre and Post Graduate Education Centre.
Provision of a hospitality catering service to a wide area of localities.

Shift Pattern - Monday to Wednesday 16:00 to 19:30
Key responsibilities:
1. Maintaining safe systems of work
2. Maintaining high standards of personal and general food hygiene as well as high standards of cleanliness in all work areas
3. Receipt and storage of all meals
4. Receipt and storage of supplies
5. Notify supervisors immediately of any concerns regarding quantities or quality issues of food or food products
6. Regeneration of cook chill meals
7. of patients menu cards including collection from wards when required
8. Plating of meals in the plating area in an attractive manner.
9. Conveyance of food trolleys to dispatch and receiving points
10. Preparation of patient trays
11. Service of meals and beverages for staff, patients and visitors ensuring portion control
12. Preparation and delivery of functions on time to the correct location.
13. Minimising food waste wherever possible by stock rotation and regeneration control.
14. Recording of waste food
15. Advising supervisors of any changes to orders which may be required.
16. Recording of Temperatures and time as part of the HACCP system
17. Cleaning and wash up of all equipement,machinery,crockery and cutlery associated with the service
18. Operation of dining rooms cash register including floats and change control. Cashing up and security of cash at the end of each shift.
19. Topping up of all cleaning materials in work area as required
20. Appropriate disposal of waste
21. Reporting faulty equipment and hazards to duty supervisor or catering management
22. Cleaning, stocking and record keeping of the various vending machines
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
23. Numerate, literate and practical
24. On the job training will be provided Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate
25. Some previous experience desirable but not essential
26. Hygiene training highly desirable
27. Cashier experience highly desirable
