Interim Head of Quality, Compliance & Assurance
Location: United Kingdom (with national travel)
Contract: Fixed Term (6 months)
Salary: £56, – £61, + £5, car allowance (pro rata)
Defour Partnership is working closely with a multi award winning National Social Care Charity recruiting for an Interim Head of Quality, Compliance and Assurance. An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced and inspiring senior leader to take on a pivotal role driving quality, compliance, and assurance within a large, well-established social care organisation.
This is a high-impact position where your leadership will directly influence the quality of care delivered across a national footprint, ensuring safe, effective, and person-centred services.
About the Role
Reporting to the Chief Quality & Risk Officer and forming part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will lead the organisation’s quality strategy, audit frameworks, and assurance systems.
You will play a key role in shaping and embedding a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring regulatory excellence and outstanding care delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and deliver a national quality, compliance, and assurance strategy
Develop robust audit and inspection frameworks
Drive organisational learning through governance, audits, and incident reviews
Embed continuous improvement and person-centred practice
Build strong relationships with regulators and external stakeholders
Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing quality team
About You
You will be a credible and strategic leader with:
Significant senior leadership experience in quality, compliance, or assurance within health or social care
Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks (including CQC and equivalent bodies)
Proven experience leading audits, inspections, and transformation programmes
Excellent analytical, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
A collaborative and resilient leadership style
Relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience
