An established offshore disputes practice is seeking a Senior Associate to handle a broad range of litigation and insolvency matters in Jersey. The role will involve court and tribunal proceedings, insolvency disputes, enforcement matters and advisory work concerning contested rights, obligations and the interpretation of legal documents and legislation. The successful candidate will work closely with partners, clients, other law firms and professional advisers on matters that are often complex, commercially sensitive and cross-border. This is a hands-on role requiring sound judgement, technical ability and effective matter management. Responsibilities will include taking instructions, drafting pleadings, skeleton arguments and submissions, managing files, reviewing junior lawyers’ work, supporting knowledge management and contributing to client development and training. Applicants should be qualified lawyers with a solid academic record and relevant litigation, insolvency or broader commercial disputes experience gained with a recognised law firm. Clear communication, good client handling skills and the ability to manage several matters at once will be important. Prior offshore experience is not essential, although applicants must be able to demonstrate the quality of training, judgement and professional standards expected at Senior Associate level. This is a rare opportunity for a disputes lawyer seeking a varied offshore platform, direct client exposure and high-quality litigation and insolvency matters.
