Are you a General Foreman with experience in sheet piling and ready to take on a permanent position with a busy civils contractor? We're seeking a confident leader to join a long-term civils framework in the Southampton area.
This role would suit a hands-on Foreman who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is capable of leading from the front. You'll be overseeing specialist civils works, including elements of sheet piling, and will be expected to manage and mentor your team while maintaining a high standard of safety, quality, and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
·Act as the lead General Foreman on site, ensuring daily operations are planned, resourced and executed effectively.
·Supervise site teams including subcontractors, labour, and plant operatives.
·Maintain strong health and safety practices and ensure all works are delivered in line with RAMS and site procedures.
·Report to the Site Manager and contribute to progress meetings.
·Ensure works are completed to design specifications and quality standards.
·Coordinate the day-to-day activities of the team and ensure clear communication across the site.
·Implement temporary works procedures and method statements where required.
·Input into short-term planning and site logistics.
·Contribute to toolbox talks and safety briefings.
·Mentor junior staff and ensure efficient workforce utilisation.
About You:
·Proven experience as a General Foreman, ideally with exposure to sheet piling, deep drainage, or structural civils.
·Confident managing teams of operatives and subcontractors.
·Strong leadership and communication skills.
·Holds valid site certifications (e.g. SSSTS or SMSTS, First Aid, CSCS, TWC/TWS advantageous).
·Comfortable working on technically complex civils projects.
·A proactive Foreman with strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
