Our client is a large multidisciplinary consultancy who were established over 30 years ago is looking for Senior / Principal Ecologists to join their teams across the north of England.
They are looking for consultants to help work on a vast range of multidisciplinary projects, working closely with and providing value to a number of their long-term, highly respected clients.
Your new role
The main responsibilities of this role will include:
1. Leading a diverse range of habitat and protected species surveys
2. Producing high-quality reports, including PEAs, EcIAs, and management plans
3. Providing planning, mitigation, and licencing advice to clients
4. Mentoring junior consultants and contributing to team development
5. Working with purpose-led clients across sectors such as infrastructure, energy, and development
6. Driving innovation in biodiversity net gain, nature-based solutions, and ecological strategy
What you'll need to succeed
7. Minimum of 4 years’ experience in ecological consultancy
8. Strong field skills, with expertise in protected species identification and mitigation
9. Excellent report writing andmunication skills
10. Full UK driving licence
11. Goodmunication skills, both in-house and with clients.
12. Experience preparing fee proposals.
13. Experience undertaking risk assessments.
14. Experience managing simple projects.
15. Be able to manage and analyse data.
16. Experience using GIS Mapping.
