Responsibilities:
* Ensure the ethos of the Centre is upheld alongside team members
* Assist the Childcare Manager in caring for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years
* Implement Childcare Service Policies
* Perform daily domestic duties and follow room routines
* Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and safety of toys and equipment
* Assist with preparing snacks and meals
* Ensure children's wellbeing through individual care needs
* Administer first aid and prescribed medicines (if qualified)
* Plan, implement, and evaluate learning activities aligned with Early Years Foundation Stage standards
* Communicate positively with children, focusing on their learning potential
* Promote an inclusive learning environment
* Observe, plan for, and record children's progress and achievements
* Engage in ongoing professional development and attend college weekly
* Meet regularly with the Childcare Manager or Mentor
* Participate in work-based assessments and team meetings
* Maintain confidentiality and adhere to College Policies and Procedures
* Undertake additional duties as required
This apprenticeship leads to a Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification, with 4 days of work and college study, based at Darlington College. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 7:50 am to 5:30 pm, including shift patterns. End-point assessment occurs after 18 months.
Note: Apprentices must complete a first aid qualification as per EYFS requirements.
