Senior Commercial manager role
Hybrid working in South Yorkshire
Our client, a leading utilities business, currently have an opportunity for an experienced Commercial Manager to work within a a growing commercial department, with line management of 2 people. The company have a long and successful history of delivering large projects tom Government clients.
The role holder will have the opportunity to lead the full contract lifecycle. Ideally you will come from a law/business degree background and have started your journey in a commercial contracts function.
The role:
* Identify the risks, liabilities and commitments of contractual agreements; ensure these are clearly understood and that the business fully appreciates any potential impact.
* Reviewing, drafting, updating and maintaining contract documents
* Monitoring and reporting performance and compliance against contractual obligations including commercial performance, financial management and contract management
* Monitoring customer satisfaction
* Working with the contract delivery teams to ensure that the management of change request process and change implementation is carried out in line with the contracts.
* Reporting on progress of change requests and projects
* Reviewing contract performance, assessing commercial risks and ensuring appropriate steps are taken to manage the risk
* Preventing and resolving contractual disputes
* Assuring adherence to Group Commercial Policy
* Supporting the client engagement teams in all commercial aspects, post contract signature, to achieve the orders, profit and cash budget and overall management of the Client relationship.
* Support the delivery streams who are responsible for the delivery of projects and provide clear direction working with the client engagement team.
* line management for two team members
The person:
* Experience of working in a pre and post contract signature environment.
* Experience of working closely with finance, operations and technical specialists.
* Sector experience is not essential.
* Experience of negotiation with customer.
* Good on both the legals and financials.
