Every investment decision shapes the future of infrastructure. The TOTEX Modeller plays a pivotal role in ensuring that every pound spent—across capital and operations—delivers maximum long-term value for customers and stakeholders. Sitting at the intersection of finance, asset management, and strategy, this role provides the analytical backbone for business planning, investment submissions, and whole-life asset decisions.
Why this role matters
You’ll directly influence how infrastructure is invested in, helping optimise costs, manage risk intelligently, and justify strategic decisions with confidence. Your work ensures that investment decisions are evidence-based, transparent, and aligned with long-term value creation.
What you’ll be here to do
As our TOTEX Modeller, you’ll bring clarity, rigour, and insight to complex investment choices. Key responsibilities include:

* Analyse asset performance and maintenance strategies to identify optimal investment scenarios.
* Develop sensitivity, uncertainty, and risk-based scenarios to support strategic decision-making.
* Provide modelling evidence for business plans, investment submissions, and financial forecasts.
Data Management & Insight
* Source, validate, and integrate data from asset systems, finance, engineering, and operations.
* Ensure modelling inputs are accurate, consistent, and auditable.
* Translate complex analytical outputs into clear insights and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
Regulatory & Business Planning
* Support the development of business plans and investment submissions.
* Ensure models align with regulatory methodologies and reporting requirements.
* Produce evidence packs, cost justifications, and scenario analyses.
Stakeholder Engagement & Assurance
* Work closely with Finance, Asset Management, Engineering, Operations, and Regulatory teams.
* Explain modelling assumptions and outputs to both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Provide challenge and assurance to cost estimates, business cases, and investment appraisals.
Governance & Continuous Improvement
* Maintain model documentation, version control, and audit trails.
* Improve modelling accuracy, automation, and analytical maturity.
* Help define standard methods, tools, and templates across the modelling function.
Who we’re looking for

* Strong analytical and numerical skills in financial, economic, or asset modelling.

* Experience handling large, complex datasets.

* Knowledge of ISO 55000 asset management.
