Role Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated Junior Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our production workshop. You will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence, driving team performance, maintaining fleet quality, and continuously improving processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Workshop Operations: Lead daily production and quality performance, ensure efficiency, report progress, and drive team accountability.
2. Stock & Supply: Collaborate with the Merchandising Team to maintain stock levels and supply of spare parts.
3. Quality Control: Manage QA processes, conduct audits, and ensure bikes meet standards.
4. Process Improvement: Identify and implement efficiency improvements and document processes.
5. Team Management: Lead and support the workshop mechanic team, deliver training for technical skills and career growth.
6. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with Site Manager, Logistics Lead, and other teams to ensure seamless operations.
7. WMS & Tech Implementation: Oversee development of Warehouse Management System and embed improvements.
8. Work Environment: Promote safety, positivity, and compliance.
9. Keyholder Responsibilities: Participate in keyholder duties, including alarm call-outs.
Success Metrics
* Meeting or exceeding production targets.
* Minimizing bottlenecks, errors, and delays.
* Maintaining stock levels with the Merchandising team.
* High fleet quality with defect rate below 1.5%.
* Achieving an average turnaround of 30 days for bikes.
* Fostering a positive, high-performing workshop culture.
* Providing regular, data-driven updates to leadership.
Requirements
* Experience managing operations in high-volume, hands-on environments.
* Strong leadership and team development skills.
* Data-driven with ability to analyze performance metrics.
* Proficiency with technology systems like Slack, Salesforce, MS Office, WMS.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Experience in a bike workshop, automotive, manufacturing, or similar field.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety standards for workshops.
