Role Summary
We are seeking a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse Specialist Practitioner (SCPHN) to lead the Healthy Child Programme and support families with Child Protection and Child in Need plans. The role involves comprehensive assessment, case management, supervision of staff, multi‑agency collaboration and policy development.
Responsibilities
* Deliver the Healthy Child Programme and improve health outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.
* Make comprehensive assessments and lead the management of Child Protection and Child in Need cases.
* Provide specialist clinical expertise, ensuring evidence‑based care and a child‑centred approach.
* Supervise, guide and support practitioners, building capability and consistency across the workforce.
* Work collaboratively with multi‑agency partners and contribute to clinical governance.
* Prepare high‑quality reports and support the development and implementation of policies and pathways.
* Identify risk, assess, plan and deliver care, using evidence‑based interventions.
* Travel to a range of venues and settings as required.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experienced Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN), School Nurse or Health Visitor with experience working 0‑19.
* Sound knowledge and understanding of the Healthy Child Programme, related policies and pathways.
* Experience safeguarding and multi‑agency working.
* Strong risk identification, assessment, planning, and delivery of care skills.
* Ability to plan and prioritise workload independently.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Enhanced DBS check required.
* Proficiency in English to an appropriate standard.
