We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic highly specialist Clinical Psychologist to a 0.5 WTE band 8a post within NHS Forth Valley Specialist Rehabilitation Service (SRS). This Service provides comprehensive multi-disciplinary intervention for inpatients with specialist rehabilitation needs. The Specialist Rehabilitation Unit (SRU), based at the Bellfield Centre, Stirling Community Hospital, rehabilitates suitable patients from a number of pathways, including the major trauma pathway (often patients are repatriated from Major Trauma Centres) and other appropriate patients transferred from Forth Valley Royal Hospital (FVRH). This is a need based service rather than diagnostic led, but the majority of patients do have complex neurological presentations. The successful candidate will work closely with the 8b Clinical Psychologist in the SRS to provide input across both acute and community hospitals. The postholder will work closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team to deliver a service to individuals who may be experiencing neuropsychological difficulties in relation to a neurological presentation and/or poly trauma. The post holder will be responsible for conducting neuropsychological assessment, psychological assessment and delivering psychological interventions and rehabilitation. Consultancy and training will be an integral part of the role. Prior experience of neuropsychology is essential and experience of inpatient work will be advantageous.

The postholder will be professionally line managed within the Clinical Neuropsychology Service. The Clinical Neuropsychology team are friendly and dynamic. As NHS Forth Valley is a smaller health board, there is ample opportunity for close liaison with other services, to benefit from a range of staff wellbeing initiatives, to attend regular CPD events and modality specific reflective practice groups. As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
