Psychology Graduate 1:1 SEMH Support Assistant
Location: South Shields
Pay: £90–£110 per day
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term
Start Date: As soon as possible
We are recruiting a Psychology Graduate 1:1 SEMH Support Assistant to provide dedicated support to a pupil with social, emotional and mental health needs.
This role requires consistency, patience and a calm approach to help the pupil manage emotions, behaviour and engagement with learning.
You will work closely with teaching and SEN staff to support the pupil throughout the school day.
Key responsibilities:
• Providing consistent 1:1 SEMH support
• Supporting emotional regulation and behaviour
• Encouraging engagement with learning activities
• Supporting routines and transitions
• Monitoring progress and emotional responses
This role is ideal for someone who:
• Holds a Psychology degree or related qualification
• Is interested in SEMH, therapy or educational psychology
• Is calm, reliable and nurturing
• Understands the importance of routine and trust

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
