Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing high-quality care to our residents in a care home setting. You will be responsible for supporting the physical and emotional well-being of the residents, ensuring their comfort and dignity while promoting their independence. Your leadership skills will be essential as you supervise junior staff and assist in implementing care plans tailored to each resident's needs.
Responsibilities
* Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
* Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, their families, and other staff members.
* Supervise and support junior care staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to create and implement individual care plans.
* Monitor residents' health and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
* Maintain accurate records of care provided and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Communicate effectively with residents, listening to their needs and responding appropriately.
Requirements
* Previous experience in a senior care or similar environment is preferred.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with residents and colleagues.
* Familiarity with IT systems for record-keeping and reporting purposes.
* Ability to develop personalised care plans based on individual resident needs.
* A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to improve the lives of residents.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends.
* Medication trained.

Pay: £12.50 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 48 per week
