Job Title: Apprentice - Electrical Test Engineer Location: Southend Role Type: 5-year Apprenticeship Job Summary: As an Electrical Test Engineer Apprentice at Honeywell, in Southend, you will be allocated an experienced mentor to guide and train you to achieve the testing and evaluation of electrical wiring devices and their components. The role is designed to provide hands-on training and experience in electrical testing processes, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. You will learn to perform tests, document results, and support the engineering team in various projects in a UKAS accredited laboratory environment. This degree level apprenticeship is set up for 5 years. A level 6 (integrated degree), in BEng Electromechanical engineering; BSc engineering, or another engineering degree that fully aligns to the Knowledge, Skills and Behaviors of the apprenticeship. You will work alongside qualified and experienced Honeywell Engineers to develop your skills whilst undertaking part time academic studies at an accredited education provider. When you're not in college, (during working hours), you'll gain hands on experience on site working in a small team of experienced test engineers at a UKAS/ASTA accredited testing laboratory: Assist in the preparation and execution of electrical tests on wiring accessories and their components Learn to operate testing equipment and testing software under supervision Document test procedures, results, and any issues encountered during testing Support the design and implementation of test plans based on engineering specifications and assist with troubleshooting and diagnosing product issues Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards during testing activities. Learn some of the supporting tasks such as calibration and equipment maintenance.
