Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Project Engineer to support the planning, coordination, and delivery of engineering projects from concept through to completion. This is a hands-on role requiring a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the lifecycle of assigned engineering projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery
Develop project scopes, technical specifications, timelines, and resource plans
Liaise with internal teams (maintenance, design, production) and external contractors or suppliers
Monitor project progress, risk, and performance using appropriate project controls
Coordinate procurement of equipment and materials for projects
Ensure compliance with industry standards, health & safety regulations, and internal procedures
Prepare and maintain technical documentation and progress reports
Support commissioning, testing, and handover activities
Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Required Skills and Experience
Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical, Electrical, or General Engineering (or equivalent experience)
Proven experience in a project engineering or coordination role within an industrial or manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of engineering principles, systems, and maintenance practices
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
Competent in interpreting technical drawings and schematics
Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Full UK driving licence (preferred)
Desirable
Experience working on CAPEX or plant upgrade projects
Familiarity with CMMS or ERP systems
IOSH/NEBOSH or other safety-related training
