Job Description:
We are currently recruiting Unqualified Secondary Teachers to work in schools across Ellesmere Port. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on classroom experience while supporting students aged 11–16 with their academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and behaviour.
You’ll work closely with qualified teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to deliver engaging lessons and provide targeted support to students who need it most.
This role is ideal for those interested in:

2. Educational or Clinical Psychology
3. Counselling & Mental Health
4. Youth Work or Social Work
5. Behaviour & SEN Support
What We’re Looking For:
6. Experience in any of the following is welcomed: youth work, behaviour support, coaching (sports, boxing, football, rugby), cadets, police, army, classroom assistant, or care work
7. A strong interest in education, psychology, or child development
8. Confidence, empathy, and adaptability
9. No formal teaching qualification is required
Job Specification
Working as a Cover Supervisor can be a very rewarding but very demanding role. Schools may wish to employ staff for cover supervision but on occasions where they are not needed for cover, they might also be released to provide additional support to Teachers in classrooms, or to carry out administrative tasks.
Ideally, candidates will be required to:
10. Develop curricular knowledge in line with the school requirements
11. Apply the school’s behaviour management policy and report any difficulties to the class Teacher/senior leadership team
12. Set homework in line with the classroom Teacher requirements
13. Provide homework under the guidance of the class Teacher
14. Administer class tests if requested
15. Supervise the work of the Teaching Assistant, providing support if required
16. Abide by and work towards all policies within the school, eg – behaviour management, health and safety, equal opportunities
17. Carry out pre-prepared exercises in the short term absence of the class Teacher
18. Ensure students remain on task through classroom management
19. You will not be required to plan lessons, but will have the opportunity to lead the class
20. Assisting students where required and ensuring lessons are delivered
21. Collect completed work and pass to the class teacher.
