The Director of Low-Rise Construction will be responsible for leading the Low-Rise Housing teams' operational performance. Performance includes delivering new home build homes on time and on budget.
Qualifications
* Post-secondary education in management, construction management, marketing, or business with demonstrated exposure to critical thinking.
* Twelve (12) plus years' experience with a minimum of seven years leading a multi-functional construction team.
Responsibilities
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Accountabilities - Low-Rise Homebuilding:
* Lead, manage, and be accountable for all functional areas of the low-rise homebuilding team.
* Ensure operational performance while maintaining best-in-class safety standards.
* Deliver best-in-class customer service.
* Lead and participate in the development and execution of strategy and business plans.
* Achieve results against the approved budget and business plan.
* Oversee performance and career development of staff.
* Provide strategic advice to the Vice-President.
Leadership & Management:
* Plan, direct, and appraise individual staff's work and performance.
* Foster an effective team culture and work environment.
* Ensure compliance with Cresco policies and procedures.
* Manage promotions/transfers, salary actions, hiring, disciplinary discussions, and terminations.
Construction:
* Collaborate with the Health & Safety Manager to create an environment of high safety standards, exceeding regulatory requirements and Cresco standards.
* Establish and maintain schedules to meet all home delivery dates.
* Maintain exemplary appearance of communities, show homes, and inventory.
Budgets, Contracts & Purchasing:
* Oversee house budgets and cost tracking.
* Maintain robust purchasing and construction release protocols to meet budgeted margins and ensure steady production flow.
* Engage positively with trade partners to control costs while delivering quality products and performance.
* Drive innovation by staying informed about product and material evolution and implementing improvements into practices.
Financial Performance
* Own profit and loss responsibilities.
* Develop, execute, and report on plans to maximize revenues and gross margins while minimizing costs and expenses.
* Gather market intelligence on conditions, buyer preferences, and competitive landscape.
