We’re on the lookout for a Grid and Market Analyst to join our growing team. You’ll be at the forefront, researching energy sector trends, assessing grid developments, and evaluating competitor strategies to help shape our approach.

About the role
As a Grid and Market Analyst, you’ll report to our Chief Strategy Officer and collaborate closely with the Business and Development Team.
Your role will be hands-on, conducting market and competitor research, evaluating network owner investment plans, and helping identify the best spots for new development opportunities.
You’ll be working across exciting project from data centres to a mix of renewable technologies like wind, solar, and long-duration energy storage. Your insights will directly influence our strategy and help us stay ahead in a fast-moving industry.
What you’ll be doing
* Energy market and sector analysis: Research and analyse trends in the energy sector, providing valuable insights that help shape and drive Apatura’s strategy.
* Grid assessment: Review network investor plans and track asset build progress to gather key data that informs optimal site selection for new projects.
* Competitor reviews: Analyse competitor strategies and progress to uncover potential market opportunities and stay ahead of industry trends.
* Acquisition opportunity screening: Create and maintain a process to assess and evaluate potential project acquisition opportunities.
* Industry consultation responses: Keep an eye on key industry consultations, flagging important policy changes that impact Apatura’s operations, and crafting responses to these.
* Development of target areas: Build and maintain a strong pipeline of development opportunities through thorough analysis of grid and market intelligence.
What we’re looking for
You’ve got a strong analytical skillset and the ability to turn complex data into actionable insights.
You know how to sift through multiple sources of information, connecting and using that intelligence to drive strategic decisions.
* Solid experience in the energy sector, with a strong understanding of the energy value chain
* Experience in energy markets and electricity networks is highly preferred
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesise data and draw meaningful conclusions
* · The ability to clearly communicate complex ideas, both in writing and verbally
* A proactive, results-driven approach with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (programming experience is a bonus, but not required)
* A curious mindset with a “how can we make this happen?” attitude to support our growth
Minimum qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Economics, Engineering, Energy) or equivalent industry experience.
