Electrical Inspector - Northampton – F1 – Ongoing contract
This long-term contract role for an Electrical Inspector offers a unique opportunity to showcase your expertise with a world-leading motorsport business in Northamptonshire.
You will be a key team member, crucial to the success of this dynamic company on its F1 and advanced engineering projects. The role is based 100% on-site in Brixworth, Northamptonshire.
Purpose of the role
* Support manufacturing with all inspection tasks related to internally manufactured parts.
Requirements
Experience in:
* Inspection within a low-volume, high-value, precision environment.
* Electrical testing & measurement inspection tasks.
Knowledge and skills
* Ability to confirm the quality of components within required timescales, using electrical test equipment, first principle inspection techniques, and automated/mechanical measurement/test equipment, including CAD models when appropriate.
* Create measurement strategies for complex components or materials.
* Understanding of GD&T and other quality standards/processes such as ISO, DIN, IPC, ANSI, JIT, BSI, SOPs, HPP logs, and PCB schematics.
* Maintain and create standard operating procedures (SOPs) for processes and operations (e.g., SAP).
* Qualified to inspect PCBs, looms, and harnesses to IPC 610/620 standards.
* Handling and inspection of ESS batteries, with an understanding of cell technology and voltage measurements.
* Knowledge of electrical components like diodes, capacitors, and soldering processes.
* Use of computed tomography (CT) for quality confirmation of sealed electrical components.
* Collaborate with other departments to optimize measurement strategies.
* Contribute to continuous improvement activities.
Qualifications
* Electro-mechanical apprenticeship and/or Mechanical/Electrical NVQ.
* Metrology courses such as NPL Level 1, 2, and 3.
* Intermediate CMM training.
* IPC 620 / IPC 610 certifications.
* Ability to work effectively with team members to deliver quality on time.
