Overview
As Counter Fraud Specialist, you’ll lead the development and delivery of TfGM’s Counter Fraud Strategy and annual work programme. You’ll provide expert advice and professional support across all areas of the organisation to help identify, manage, and mitigate the risks of fraud, corruption, and bribery. You’ll also take the lead in responding to whistleblowing concerns and investigating suspected or reported cases of fraud, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and working closely with law enforcement agencies where appropriate.
Your Role
In your role you will:
* Maintain and develop the TfGM Counter fraud, corruption and bribery framework, ensuring it continues to align with recognised good practice.
* Proactively communicate to all staff via a variety of media to ensure there is high level of employee awareness of fraud risks and of personal responsibilities to report and respond to actual or suspected fraud, corruption or bribery;
* Plan and deliver a prioritised programme of fraud risk assessments across all TfGM business areas, embedding a cycle of FRAs.
* Establish proactive fraud monitoring, detection and investigation processes working collaboratively with business areas and utilising data analysis skills and tools.
* Manage investigations to secure best evidence to achieve a successful prosecution, recover losses and rectify control weaknesses, working with crime enforcement agencies as necessary.
* Lead on sharing best practice, lessons learnt and supporting organisational learning and development on all matters of fraud, corruption, bribery or other irregularities.

Who are we?
As part of the wider Audit, Risk and Assurance team, Internal Audit delivers a risk-based internal audit plan and reports to the TfGM Board and Audit, Risk and Assurance Committee. Internal Audit is really well regarded within TfGM and is very much seen as a value-adding service, providing independent, objective and professional assurance and advice to management and to the Board.
Responding to a significant change in TfGM’s operations bringing greater fraud risk exposure we are looking for an experienced counter fraud professional to drive forward the TfGM counter fraud agenda also significantly contributing to protecting our revenues against losses due to fraud. This is a new role in the ARA team providing a unique opportunity to make a difference and use your existing counter fraud knowledge and skills in a rapidly changing environment.

To be successful in this role you will have extensive experience of delivering the broad range of counter fraud services, communicating with staff at all levels in driving forward continuous improvement in controls to mitigate fraud risks. You will have a track record of leading investigations to a successful conclusion, working effectively with law enforcement agencies.
You will also have a substantial understanding of counter fraud principles, practices, techniques and legislation to help ensure TfGM remains compliant and is operating in accordance with professional standards.

This permanent position with a salary of £47,539 to £52,866 offers a great opportunity for a Counter Fraud professional to lead the delivery of the Counter Fraud improvement programme at TfGM whilst making a significant contribution to delivering assurance to the Board and ARAC.
