Responsibilities
* Support the training and education needs of relevant NMAHP staff as identified by Practice Education and Practice Development Teams.
* Take part in orientation and induction programmes for new HCSWs.
* Support practice education / development teams with the assessment of HCSWs undertaking work-based competences and qualifications.
* Be involved in the planning and delivery of specific teaching sessions for relevant NMAHP staff under the direction of practice development/practice education facilitators.
* Act as a HCSW learning and development link for Practice Development and Practice Education teams
* Support the maintenance of communication networks and learning forums for HCSWs
Qualifications and Experience
What we’ll need you to bring
* Formal qualification at HNC Level or equivalent level of experience in a health / education / social care environment plus short specialist courses relevant to specific clinical area.
* Awareness of health legislation relevant to the clinical area.
* Knowledge of the clinical specialty/area process, techniques and / or activities relevant to client group.
* Ability to apply a range of technical and practical skills.
* Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
* Time management, planning and organisational skills.
* Working knowledge of basic information technology.
* Ability to work individually or as part of a team.
* Ability to learn and develop new skills and maintain a record of learning.
* Full driving license holder
Note Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
Nice to have
* Completed or working towards a qualification in education, training and assessment
* Proven experience of providing education or training to others
* Understanding and/or experience of work-based qualifications for HCSWs e.g. SVQs, modern apprenticeship frameworks
* Excellent communicator who is able to motivate others to develop
* Ability to work without direct supervision
Contract details
* Fixed Term or Secondment for 12 months
* Full time
* 37 hours
Note This is a fixed term post for 12 months. Where a post has temporary funding and an existing NHS Lanarkshire member wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment with written agreement from their line manager to be released before applying.
Location and working pattern
This role will be based in NMAHP Practice Development within Beckford St.
