MEICA Commissioning Engineer – Water Industry Location: Hampshire/Surrey Area Contract Type: Permanent or Contract (Outside IR35 where applicable) Rate/Salary: Competitive – Based on experience ️ Sectors: Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation (MEICA) About the Role Were on the lookout for an experienced and driven MEICA Commissioning Engineer to join a leading contractor in the UK water industry. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the successful delivery of water and wastewater projects, with most of the work centred around the Aldershot area. Whether youre looking for a permanent position or contract work, we’re open to hearing from talented engineers from a Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control or Automation background. Key Responsibilities Lead and support commissioning activities across clean and wastewater sites Work closely with site teams, subcontractors, and the client to ensure timely and effective delivery Troubleshoot MEICA systems, validate installation, and support FAT/SAT processes Produce detailed commissioning plans, reports, and documentation Ensure compliance with industry standards, H&S procedures, and environmental guidelines Attend progress meetings and liaise with design and delivery teams Support handover and training for operational staff What Were Looking For Proven experience in a MEICA commissioning role (water industry experience ideal) Strong technical background in one or more of the following: mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control systems, automation Familiarity with water treatment processes and assets (pumps, MCCs, telemetry, PLCs, etc.) Ability to read technical drawings and interpret commissioning documentation Excellent communication and problem-solving skills CSCS/ECS card, and ideally EUSR or similar water industry tickets Full UK driving licence What’s on Offer Flexible working arrangement – contract or permanent Competitive day rates/salary (dependent on experience) Exposure to high-profile water projects and a strong project pipeline Supportive and collaborative site teams Career development opportunities for permanent candidates Sound Like You?
