📌 Job Opportunity: Assessment Officer (EHC Coordinator) – Medway Council
Join the Education and SEND Division at Medway Council as an Assessment Officer (EHC Coordinator). You'll play a vital role in coordinating Education, Health, and Care (EHC) assessments and drafting outcome-focused, high-quality EHC Plans that support children and young people across the region.

📑 Reports to: Assessment Hub Lead
The salary range for this perm position is £31,283 - £37,181
🔍 Main Responsibilities:
* Draft and amend Education, Health & Care Plans (EHCPs) in line with statutory frameworks (Children and Families Act, SEND Code of Practice)
* Coordinate multi-agency input into EHC assessments
* Ensure completion of EHC processes within the 20-week statutory timeframe
* Provide technical advice and support to parents and carers throughout the EHCP process
* Maintain clear communication and accurate records of case progress and stakeholder interactions
* Use the SEN database in line with Council protocols to manage and track cases
* Support quality assurance of advice and plans
* Liaise with professionals and services to identify needs and ensure child-focused outcomes
✅ Requirements:
* Experience in SEND services or EHC planning
* Strong understanding of SEND Code of Practice and Children and Families Act
* Excellent organisational, communication, and data management skills
* Ability to manage a busy caseload and work in a multi-agency environment
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
