Overview
We are looking for someone enthusiastic to join our small but dynamic Democratic Services Team which provides governance support to a wide range of Committees, Boards and Panels as well as working closely with Councillors and Senior Officers. You will play a significant role in supporting the Council's overview and scrutiny function, including providing advice and guidance to both internal and external colleagues, undertaking associated research, preparing reports and coordinating work programmes.
Responsibilities
* Provide governance support to Committees, Boards and Panels and work closely with Councillors and senior officers
* Provide advice and guidance to internal and external colleagues
* Undertake associated research, prepare reports and coordinate work programmes
* Develop and contribute to the digital agenda, with emphasis on modernisation and digitalisation of governance processes
Requirements / Qualifications
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong interpersonal abilities
* Awareness of the sensitivities involved in working within a political environment
* Diplomatic and tactful approach to problem solving
* Collaborative team player committed to delivering excellent customer service
* Ability to use initiative and experience of IT systems
* Experience of Mod Gov would be beneficial
Contract
* This is a fixed-term position for 12 months or a secondment opportunity for an internal candidate
