Industrialisation Engineer

What you’ll do
* Assist in the development of the Capital Expenditure plan for the department, providing inputs on factory space, shop floor layouts, plant & equipment, manufacturing techniques, environmental aspects and ergonomics.
* Assist in the Capital Expenditure Budget submission annually and discharge the plan.
* Create and submit investment business cases in line with company processes, detailing technical tasks, costs, implementation plans, compliance, drawings, technical specifications, cost savings and economic evaluation.
* Create detailed plant and equipment specifications, ensuring all requirements are captured and Health & Safety regulatory requirements are included.
* Coordinate project specification preparation, evaluating and selecting new plant and processes with specialist knowledge.
* Provide detailed budget costs for new and replacement plant and processes, determining total project requirements with business and suppliers.
* Manage projects, coordinate supply and introduction of new plant and equipment, reporting on costs, implementation and progress.
* Prepare justification of new and replacement plant and processes for approval from operations to Chief Executive, depending on project value.
* Research and evaluate new manufacturing techniques and processes, including technological advancements for machines, equipment, storage and material handling systems.
* Prepare and implement projects within Health & Safety guidelines (e.g. Sec 30 HSEP P‑04 Plant, Machinery and Equipment, UK & European harmonised standards).
* Initiate and coordinate capital plant disposal procedures and manage disposal with the Site Disposals coordinator.
* Review each project through its life cycle to ensure adherence to the Project Management Process, managing resources, contractors and risks for timely safe delivery.
* Manage contractors working in the department, ensuring they arrive with appropriate Risk & Method Statements and Permits.
* Assist management in departmental overhead budget submission and monitor spend against budgets.
* Lead or support business project and improvement activities.
* Support the department as reasonably required to maintain component deliveries.
What you’ll bring
* A recognised engineering qualification in a mechanical, production or aeronautical discipline, or a recognised engineering apprenticeship with 5‑7 years operational experience.
* Project planning and management skills with experience influencing teams across the organisation.
* Ability to drive projects to completion under own initiative and manage several projects simultaneously, prioritising tasks for timely delivery.
* Good knowledge of manufacturing operating areas, including the integration of machining and process activities within a composite manufacturing facility.
* Experience using CAD software for detail drawings and facility layouts.
* Financial awareness regarding budgetary control.
