About the Role
As a Warehouse Supervisor, you’ll oversee the day-to-day running of warehouse activities, ensuring your team meets service levels efficiently and safely. You'll coordinate resources, support process improvement, and ensure compliance with all operational and regulatory standards. This role also includes deputising for the Shift Manager in their absence.
The purpose of this role is to supervise a team of warehouse operatives and coordinate all activities that take place in the warehouse to ensure consistent achievement of the volume, quality, and efficiency targets so that Whistl continues to deliver the highest quality, most cost-effective offering for its customers across all products.
Key Responsibilities
* Team Management: Allocate resources effectively based on volume and throughput; manage attendance, conduct, and performance; train and develop team members; and support a customer-first culture.
* Process Oversight: Manage inbound and outbound activities; monitor adherence to standard operating procedures; conduct quality checks; and support compliance with HSE, security, and data regulations.
* Communication: Deliver clear daily briefs/debriefs; build strong relationships across the business; and liaise with stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
* Compliance & Safety: Promote a clean, safe, and secure working environment, record incidents accurately, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
* Resource and Process Management: Plan resource allocation according to volume and throughput; manage the unloading and loading of deliveries to meet SLAs; communicate with internal and external customers to keep them informed.
* Team Management: Brief and debrief team members daily; coordinate activities; delegate and prioritize work; manage staff attendance, conduct, and performance; deputise for the shift manager.
* Training: Train team members on induction to support development and performance.
* Compliance: Maintain and update all warehouse SOPs in liaison with management, ensuring compliance with all regulations including Safety, Health, and Environment, Carriage of Dangerous Goods, Data Protection, and Information Security.
* Communication: Develop a strong team culture by building relationships and sharing information to maximize efficiency.
Shift Information
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shifts Available: Morning Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM; PM Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM
Schedule Format: Any 5 days over 7; flexible to work across different shifts and locations as needed.

Requirements
* Minimum 3 years' experience in warehouse or logistics, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role, including goods in/out and carrier handovers
* Experience in team supervision, performance management, staff development, disciplinary procedures, and attendance management, with strong communication skills
* Ability to plan, prioritize, and delegate to meet SLAs
* Ability to manage conflicting deadlines while maintaining accuracy
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
* Confident decision-maker with proactive problem-solving and process improvement skills
* Understanding of HSE standards and operational compliance
* Valid FLT license, First Aid, or Fire Warden certification, or willingness to complete training
