Recovery Worker – Single Point of Contact (SPOC)

This is a full‑time, telephone‑based role supporting service users from point of entry into the service through to allocation into the hub. The position is based in Stevenage and is fully supported by the Hertfordshire service network.
Salary & Benefits
* Full‑time salary: £27,861.26 – £32,002.35 (pro‑rated for part‑time)
* £694.25 allowance (pro‑rated)
* 37.5 hours per week
* 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), rising by 1 day for each year of service

Responsibilities
* Take telephone calls from service users, carers and professionals, dealing with a wide range of enquiries.
* Process referrals and respond to queries from Children’s Services, GPs and pharmacies.
* Complete triages and personalised assessments over the phone.
* Provide recovery planning during assessments.
* Offer harm‑reduction advice during triages and assessments.
* Advocate for access to partnership services.
* Give advice on addiction and substances to service users, professionals, friends and family.
* Support social (re)integration, enabling meaningful, purposeful lives that promote recovery, resilience, peer support and self‑determination.
Qualifications & Experience
* Strong understanding of addiction and substance misuse issues with experience in a similar field.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, good IT literacy.
* Proactive, able to work independently, with strong time‑management and prioritisation.
* Supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals and agencies.
* Ability to manage change successfully, prioritising the needs of service users.
* Commitment to information governance and safeguarding processes.
