We are offering an exciting opportunity for a permanent, full-time, Band 7 (development post) or Band 8a to gain experience in Neuropsychology and working with neurological conditions, including acquired brain injury and prolonged disorders of consciousness (PDOC). You will work as part of the MDT within the specialist neuro-rehabilitation unit at Llandough Hospital, covering the neuro-rehabilitation service as well as the PDOC service. Applicants applying at Band 7 level will be offered support to reach the required competencies in order to develop.

This post is supported by supportive multi-disciplinary teams in both neuro-rehab and PDOC, a team of clinical/ neuropsychologists, and the wider Health Psychology Specialty. The role requires delivering on all aspects of the service, which includes direct work with individuals, working with families, supporting the multi-disciplinary team and offering consultation, reflective practice and supervision.

There is access to a wealth of supervision within our supportive neuropsychology department. The post holder will be able to develop specialist skills with supervision from a Consultant Neuropsychologist. We have strong teaching and research links with Cardiff University, and research interests are encouraged.

We are looking for an applicant with interests in neuro-rehabilitation, acquired brain injury and PDOC. This post would appeal to an enthusiastic practitioner who holds patient care at the centre of their work.

* To provide a specialised psychology service to adults with PDOC/complex brain injury and their families/carers.
* The post holder will provide specialised assessments and interventions for patients and their families.
* The post holder will play a key role in providing a specialised neuropsychology service to the Neuro-Rehabilitation Unit, part of the Llandough Centre for Specialised Neuro and Spinal Rehabilitation, as well as outreach to other acute hospitals across the region.
* The post-holder will offer advice and consultation on psychological care to the multi-disciplinary team and wider, working within national and professional guidelines and departmental procedures
* The post-holder will utilise research skills for audit, policy, service development and research within UHB guidance.
* This role will include design of services including complex psychological assessments, formulation and treatment on an individual and group basis, multi-disciplinary work, consultancy, liaison, research, teaching, and supervision of others.
* To offer supervision and teaching to assistant psychologists and doctoral trainee clinical psychologists as a member of the Neuropsychology Department.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
