We are seeking a dedicated, motivated, and compassionate Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to join our school-based team on a permanent basis, providing vital support to pupils with a range of speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN).

About the Role:
As our dedicated on-site Speech and Language Therapist, you will assess pupils' speech, language, and communication needs and deliver targeted interventions tailored to individual Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) and school-based support strategies. You will collaborate closely with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral teams, and families to create a communication-friendly environment where every child can succeed.
You will work with a varied caseload, including pupils with speech delays, language disorders, ASD, SEMH needs, and other developmental challenges. Your role will involve both 1:1 interventions and small group sessions, providing a holistic approach to improving pupils' communication skills across the school day.
Key Responsibilities:
️ Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify individual communication needs
️ Deliver evidence-based 1:1 and group interventions
️ Provide practical strategies to support speech and language development in classrooms
️ Contribute to EHCP reviews, reports, and target setting
️ Work collaboratively with teaching and SEN teams to embed communication support
️ Provide informal training and advice to staff to promote inclusive practice
️ Engage with parents and carers to support home-school communication
Requirements:
Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
HCPC registration (or working towards)
Passion for working with children and young people in educational settings
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
Experience supporting pupils with ASD, SEMH, or complex communication needs is desirable but not essential
