Quantity Surveyor Main Contractor

Our client is a well-established and forward-thinking main contractor with a strong pipeline of secured work for the year ahead. Due to continued growth, they are looking to strengthen their commercial team with the appointment of an experienced Quantity Surveyor.
The business delivers healthcare and commercial refurbishment and new build projects under JCT and NEC contracts, with typical project values ranging from £2m to £10m. The role is office-based in Coulsdon with regular site visits across London and the Home Counties, particularly Surrey and London.

Role Summary
The Quantity Surveyor will take commercial responsibility for projects from pre-construction through to final account. Working closely with project teams, clients and the supply chain, the role focuses on maintaining strong commercial control, managing risk and supporting successful project delivery, particularly within live healthcare environments.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor from a main contracting background to join a growing business with long term ambitions and a healthy pipeline of work.
Key Responsibilities
* Commercial management of healthcare refurbishment and new build projects valued between £2m and £10m
* Cost planning, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
* Procurement and management of subcontractors and supply chain
* Preparation and agreement of valuations, variations and final accounts
* Commercial reporting and cost and value reconciliation
* Risk management and change control
* Close liaison with site teams, consultants and clients
* Supporting junior members of the commercial team where required
Person Specification
* Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment
* Degree in Quantity Surveying or a similar construction discipline
* Experience delivering refurbishment or new build projects with a main contractor
