Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Speaking and Listening / Language Intervention
Foundation Stage – Year 4
Part time - 31 hours 15 minutes per week, 39 weeks per year
BTCT Points 10 to 12. Starting on Point 10, actual salary £20,959.58 per annum.

Role description
We are looking for a HLTA to be trained in and then deliver the Nuffield Early Language Intervention programme. NELI is a 20-week programme proven to help young children overcome language difficulties. It is designed for children aged 4-5 years and combines small group work with one-to-one sessions delivered by trained teaching assistants, targeting vocabulary, narrative skills, active listening and phonological awareness.
Responsibilities
* Provide support for students, the teachers, and the Academy to raise standards of achievement by utilising advanced levels of knowledge and skills when assisting with planning, monitoring, assessing, marking and managing classes.
* Support staff, students and the academy policies and strategies.
* Support students’ welfare and support the inclusion of students in all aspects of Academy life.
Requirements and expectations
The ideal candidate will have experience in delivering English and/or speaking and listening interventions and supports with a proven track record of success. The role includes assisting with planning, monitoring, assessing, marking and managing classes, and contributing to a positive learning environment.

Please note, although we are ideally looking for a full-time colleague, we are open to discussing flexible working options.
