Clerical Officer/Booking Clerk - Radiology

Our Clerical Officer is responsible for supporting the smooth efficient running of Radiology, enabling high standards of care for our service users. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team, working with Radiologists, Radiographers and Nurses in all areas of the Directorate. The primary role for this post is supporting the Radiology Admin Team and cross covering where necessary within the team. While responsibility lies with clinical staff, this role can have impact on patient care.

About us
Our admin team comprise of two sections, one in call centre and one in main office with supervisors in both areas.
The admin team are responsible for booking Radiology Outpatient appointments and Inpatient appointments. Therefore you must be able to work independently and demonstrate excellent prioritisation and time management skills and will also have the ability to cope with complex situations.
Job responsibilities
* To work as part of the A&C team, contributing to efficient departmental processes.
To support patients ensuring that their visits to Radiology are managed in the most caring and efficient manner. This is through phone or face-to-face communication and by assuring that correct processes are followed to ensure that information is appropriately distributed.
To ensure that any information for Radiology examinations and procedures is distributed to the correct patients and any changes to information (eg change of appointment date) is communicated effectively.
To contribute to the delivery of high standards of patient care.
* Must have good interpersonal skills and communicate with patients/public, staff, radiology personnel, medical staff, nurses, healthcare professionals and other support staff.

Qualifications & Training/Specific skills/Knowledge & Experience
* General education.
* Basic knowledge of computerised systems.
* Telephone manner.
* Knowledge of CRIS system.
* Experience of working with the general public.
* Previous NHS experience.
