Job Vacancy: Butcher (Processing/Manufacturing Plant)
Location: Island Foods, Ryde, Isle of Wight, PO33 1QT Full-time 40 hours Monday to Friday
Salary: Dependant on experience
We are seeking a skilled Butcher to join our processing or manufacturing plant team. If you have experience in meat preparation and are passionate about maintaining high standards of food safety and quality, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
* Break down animal carcasses into primal cuts for further processing
* Cut sides and quarters of meat into standard cuts such as rumps, flanks, and shoulders
* Debone meat efficiently and accurately
* Inspect meat for impurities and defects, ensuring only top-quality product moves forward
* Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
* Store meat in accordance with health and safety legislation
Requirements:
* Strong knife skills and experience with meat cutting and deboning
* Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure
* Attention to detail and commitment to quality
* Capable of following instructions and working as part of a team
* Understanding of food safety practices and regulations
