The Role:
This position is within our Saab Seaeye Business Unit.
You will develop a comprehensive understanding of our product range and manufacture ROV assemblies from components to final testing and approval. You will also learn about real-world performance and perform fault analysis on returned products requiring servicing or refurbishment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manufacture and repair electro-mechanical assemblies, ensuring quality and accuracy.
* Interpret engineering drawings and schematics for assembly and fault diagnosis.
* Perform soldering and electrical loom wiring to high standards.
* Assist with pressure and soak testing of Saab Seaeye components as needed.
* Maintain proficiency with relevant IT systems required for the role.
* Work on complex electro-mechanical and hydraulic assemblies at the component level.
* Apply 6S principles and lean methodologies to improve efficiency.
* Collaborate professionally with team members and other departments to meet objectives and deadlines.
* Act ethically, with integrity, and in the best interest of the business.
* Manage time effectively to maximize productivity.
* Use judgment and initiative to develop solutions to daily challenges.
* Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or managers.
Required Skills:
* Interpret electro/mechanical/hydraulic schematics accurately.
* Proven mechanical engineering knowledge and experience.
* Understanding of electronic manufacturing practices (e.g., IPC standards).
* Ability to diagnose electrical and electronic faults to PCB level using proven methods.
Desirable Skills:
* Component-level diagnostics experience.
* Formal qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
* Experience with electronic testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, megohmmeters, and multimeters.
