About Role: We firmly believe that peer advisors bring something special to our services, increasing engagement, having more time to spend with clients and becoming role models to their peers. The post holder will deliver in the following key areas: Peer advisor recruitment and support Training and assessing Voluntary placement development Quality assurance and reporting Team working You will provide a high level service to individuals with lived experience whilst working towards their Level 3 Certificate in Advice and Guidance. You will engage and support individual to achieve their qualification and progress onto further opportunities and sustainable employment. You will also work as part of a larger Trainer Assessor team which ensures excellent standards are maintained in terms of qualification delivery. You will be responsible for supporting our peer advisors throughout their training and as their journey progresses on to securing employment. You will work as part of a wider team that provide work placement co-ordination and employment support. You will be required to work closely with other St Giles services and other organisations who host work placement to build and maintain excellent working relationships. (1) KEY DELIVERABLES Peer advisor recruitment and support Liaise with St Giles staff and external partner organisations to identify and engage learners with the relevant skills, motivation and aptitude Interview applicants, complete assessment paperwork, assess learning and other needs, taking into account support issues and experience; and carry out risk assessments Work with learners to produce and review realistic individual learning plans in accordance with project requirements and provide a comprehensive induction Provide one to one support to peer advisors and volunteers attached to the project as appropriate Training and assessing Plan and deliver a training program leading to the achievement of Level 3 Certificate in Advice and Guidance, in accordance with accreditation requirements Assess and support learners through the qualification and monitor their progress towards timely completion and certification Design and deliver employment related workshops to project clients Voluntary placement development Develop and maintain the range of work placement opportunities, matching learners to placements and ensuring positive and supportive relationships with placements providers Quality assurance and reporting Liaise and work in co-operation with the Trust’s internal quality assurers to ensure compliance with standards. Attend and participate in internal and external meetings, best practice seminars and continuous professional development opportunities Undertake the administration necessary for tracking learner progress Maintain and update all records required, including learner portfolios, course content folders and monitoring systems in line with St Giles policy and procedures and project requirements. Provide timely monthly reports on progress against agreed outcomes Assist in preparing for OFSTED and other quality assurance assessments or inspections, including completion of an annual team self-assessment report and quality improvement plan Team working Work constructively with colleagues to achieve project targets and respond to requests from the project manager Develop and maintain positive and professional working relationships with all members of staff at St Giles and actively assist in the implementation of the Trust’s policies Actively assist in the implementation of the Trusts’ policies and procedures to help meet the project targets Carry out similar duties which may be required by the Trust (2) PERSON SPECIFICATION PERSON SPECIFICATION - What we are looking for from you, When completing your application form please address the points marked with ( A ) set out below.
