We're recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Rugby (CV22). This full-time role involves providing 1:1 support to a Year 3 pupil with social, emotional, and behavioural needs, including autism, attachment difficulties, and dysregulation.
You'll be working closely with one child who requires consistency, emotional support, and calm guidance to thrive throughout the day. A nurturing, patient, and trauma-informed approach is essential, alongside the ability to adapt to changing needs and behaviours.
The Role:
* Provide 1:1 support to a Year 3 pupil with SEMH, ASD and attachment needs
* Build a consistent, trusted relationship to enable emotional safety
* Use behaviour plans and de-escalation strategies to support regulation
* Encourage participation and progress within class-based learning
* Spot signs of dysregulation and intervene calmly and appropriately
* Promote positive behaviour, independence and emotional development
* Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external specialists
The Ideal Candidate:
* Level 2/3 TA qualification (or equivalent)
* Experience with SEMH, ASD and behavioural needs
* Skilled in trauma-informed practice and consistent routines
* Calm, emotionally resilient and confident in a 1:1 setting
* Flexible and responsive to a pupil's changing needs
* Committed to inclusion, communication, and teamwork
