We are looking for an enthusiastic person who will be able to lead the friendly and hardworking OT team at Marie Therese House Neuro Rehab Unit for 12 months whilst covering a maternity leave. This post will be ideal for someone who will model positive relationships and has a strong work ethic. The post holder must have well developed neuro clinical skills, be able to work with the Therapy lead for Stroke and Neurology to support the team operationally and must show a commitment to supporting the well being of all team members.
Main duties of the job
To provide a high standard Occupational Therapy service.
To maintain an agreed case load within the clinical specialism, performing advanced assessment of patients including those with highly complex presentations. To formulate diagnoses and treatment plans, as an autonomous practitioner.
To undertake line manager duties for the team.
To work alongside the Inpatient Therapy Manager, Therapy Lead for Stroke and Neurology, and the Occupational Therapy Professional Lead, in planning, co‑coordinating, delivering and evaluating the service.
To be instrumental in the ongoing development of services and practices that provide high quality care and interventions.
To carry out any special duties associated with the post (see section below).

Person Specification
Knowledge
* Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
* HCPC Registered
* Member of BAOT or Clinical Interest group
* Evidence of further formal study e.g. Postgraduate qualifications, (Postgraduate certificate/Diploma, Masters modules, or equivalent management qualification
Skills
* Highly developed clinical skills in neurology
* Comprehensive experience of delivering Occupational Therapy services to neurology patients in the acute setting
* Ability to demonstrate well developed leadership skills
* Able to work and lead under externally applied pressures e.g. deadlines, competing demands and priorities
* Highly developed communication and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate contentious or complex information effectively
* Commitment to and understanding of teams and team working
* Ability to problem solve and use initiative
* Demonstrates evidence of Trust values and behaviours
* Awareness of National Agendas and have good working knowledge of national and local legislation policies and procedures
Experience
